Industry Specific Achievements and Accomplishments:
My name is Mark Lassagne (luh-SAYN). I live in Dixon, California and proudly served our great nation as a US Marine. As a competitor, I love tournament bass fishing and have had some great success competing up and down the West Coast. In addition to tournament fishing, I own and run Bass Angler Magazine – a nationwide publication focusing on the how-to aspects of bass fishing.
During my career, I’ve had numerous top-10 finishes and cashed a check on every lake across the West Coast. In 2016, I was the California Bassmaster Federation State Champion. A few years earlier I won the Black Bass World Championship in Mexico with Team USA. Additionally, I’ve qualified as a pro angler three times for the Wild West Bass Trail Pro/Am Championship, four times for the West Coast Bass Classic, five times for the FLW Championship, three times for the BFL Regional, four times for the B.A.S.S. Federation Regional, and the prestigious Bassmaster Top150, along with various team championships.
The medium of television is a fun and rewarding venue to directly impact and educate anglers. I’ve worked with: The Informative Fisherman, Western Bass, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, West Coast Bass, Bassmasters, Angler West, Pros on Tour, True Bass and others.
I’ve been a guest speaker on various radio shows, including Bass Edge Radio, Fish Talk Radio, Bass Radio weekly, Mighty 690, 1150 Extra sports, Shake Rattle & Troll, Ultimate Bass, Wishin’ I was Fishin’ on the Water, ESPN Radio, and Fish Bait Radio.
I’ve written a number of articles published in Game and Fish, Times News Paper, Bass West USA, Bassin’, American Bass Angler Magazine, CA Fish and Game, FLW Outdoors, Rabid Angler, Fish Sniffer, Field & Stream, Western Bass, TackleTour, and of course Bass Angler Magazine.
I’m honored to represent some of the finest companies in the fishing industry: Ford of Fairfield, Price Simms Auto Group, Bass Angler Magazine, Bass Cat Boats, Mercury Outboards, ANGLR, Okuma, Aqua-Vü, River2Sea, Garmin, Yamamoto, Gamakatsu, Cal Coast Fishing and Top This Outfitters.
Non-Industry Achievements and Accomplishments:
While becoming engulfed in bass fishing, I also owned and operated a successful auto repair shop in Pleasant Hill, CA. I’m an ASE Mater Certified auto technician, and during my time as a shop owner/technician, I specialized in troubleshooting and repairing difficult problems. My shop was a highly rated AAA and AC Delco repair shop with a stellar reputation for customer service.
As a Master Technician, I was often commissioned to inspect vehicles for BBB, various insurance companies, and attorneys. Furthermore, over the years I’ve also been called upon as an expert witness for automotive mechanical and Lemon Law issues.
While building my fishing career I was, for a short time, a licensed insurance agent and an investment advisor with Series 6, 7, 65, 63 securities licenses. Though working in the markets was enjoyable, the sales process to become a successful stockbroker was not.
